It is my opinion that one should regularly activate the chrono function if it is mechanical, this will keep all the gears lubricated. Not doing so will gum up delicate parts.
Just not all the time! That will not be beneficial either. Use your tool watch a it is meant to be used.... time your activities and then take a break, go to sleep etc..
Agreeing here... just use the watch like you are a regular Joe. It will be all right.
Oops I voted the wrong way! Just use it like it is meant to and you will be alright. Then again, mechanical chronos come in many different qualities. The old ones, like the Seiko 6139 and such I would definitely keep running (just check up on Spencer Klein's videos on youtube.)
Yeah, why not. But they will wear out sooner.
