His words:
The only one I had problems with was the 8325 Seikomatic R on which the case was rusted and wouldn't open, even with my bench mounted opener. Indeed, nothing to worry about. The movement looks great and the case will clean up nicely. Still, it is shocking what some watches are put through, never cleaned, years of crud...

Well, I kind of like that. It adds to the vintage character. I'll clean it up of course because I want them as pristine as possible. Still, it is nice to rescue a watch and be instrumental in giving it a second life.

They are nice watches, and I am planning to get a good one myself but I am afraid it is almost a certainty to add another 125 euro or so to the bill for service...

Better response on post Service your vintage watch! It is. But still I prefer vintage for providing a more unique experience and feel.

Indeed, that's the point. If you want a unique watch vintage is the ticket. It has developed patina and is proven to be reliable - the price helps too of course (not counting the Grand Seikos).

Oh yes, vintage is the ticket. It is just that the list of grail watches tends to get overly long.

Well, for most people watches are disposable. Even I used to be a serial buyer... Yeah, that sounds bad now.
